Research is not an purpose in itself, it is there for people. It is part of ISAS's self-understanding to develop analytical methods that relate to current issues in health research and which can later be applied so that they are usable on a large scale. In this way, ISAS fulfils its social mission, entirely in accordance with the Leibniz Association's ideal of knowledge, theoria cum praxi. In addition, the institute promotes young scientists and shares its findings not only within the international research community, but also communicates them to the general public in the sense of comprehensible science communication. Besides the exchange with various non-academic target groups, the activities in knowledge transfer also include consulting activities for politics and associations as well as providing experts for interviews.
